whistles sunglasses

My Northern European, morgue-pale skin always gets slathered with SPF50 under the heat of the sun, but it’s still not enough to stop me burning, so I always wear a hat and hide behind large framed sunglasses the moment I cross the English Channel.

I don’t mind because I like hiding in plain sight, and because all that sun evasion means I barely have a crow’s foot. (The vitamin D deficiency is another matter…I’ll make a fabulously unlined corpse.)

Of course in my panic to get to the airport on Monday I left my chosen sunhat (one of many that I possess) in the hallway of my apartment so, in Stansted’s Accessorize, I added this Panama Hat to my collection. At just £15 it turned out to be a perfect travel hat, rolling up neatly and remaining unsquished.

The sunglasses are shiny new from Whistles’ SS13 collection. I love that they are navy: so much more flattering for a blonde than black – and really difficult to find as a rule. They have a great grey tint, so the world doesn’t look too dark, and the handmade acetate frames are bearing up well to my wear and tear: I seem to break the arms off most pairs eventually.

I have just bought those sunglasses. I usually go to TK Maxx for my sunnies but I am always on the hunt for the elusive and magical navy. Please don’t grass me up to You Know Who. Thank you for the tip! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ps the shape also looks PERFECT

Living in Italy, I also wear 50 SPF everyday, in winter I go down to 20.

Barely a crow’s foot? Now aren’t you an advertisement for proper skin protection. There’s no hope for me! All those days in the Texas sun (and now Singapore sun) are going to haunt me for the rest of my life. Good thing I had a little break while I was in England!

Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, now that I’ve ordered the glasses, all sorts of beautiful Whistles items are popping up in the ads next to my e-mails. ARRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
