Up until this year I used to gaze at myself in the mirror and congratulate myself for the lack of bags, dark circles & general puffiness under my eyes.

Hah. Pride becomes before a fall, etc etc…

This not-entirely-brilliant-on-the-personal-front year has resulted in what appear to be permanent dark craters under my eyes. Each morning I wake up with puffy eyelids, hell, I even have puffy crows feet. I do not find this haggard look beguiling and I can’t believe anyone else does either. So I have resorted to foraging through the container of doom for the multiple boxes of eye creams, unguents, potions and snake oil that I have been sent by various complicit publicists over the years.

First up is a box of twelve Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Instant Treatment Eye Masks. They promise that, “these concentrated under-eye treatment sheets dramatically transform the appearance of wrinkles and helps to improve dark circles. Formulated with Shiseido-original Pure Liquid Retinol Delivery System.”

And you know what, I think they make a difference.  I’ve been using them 2-3 times a week and whilst I don’t really have wrinkles that need zapping,  the dark circles…well, I’m still haggard, but a little less so.

Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Instant Treatment Eye Mask $59.99 or £54

Thanks a lot! I am sure my friends are going to love this product

I’ve had a similar year. A friend who was a makeup artist for Shiseido is no longer there. She’s sorry too sometimes…because this was one of our favorite products. When in State of Serious Penury these are out of reach but I’m glad you were able to get your pawpads on some. I just saw a close-up pic of me at an event on Sunday. Thank goodness the photographer is nice…as in, the pic will not be surfacing. It’s that bad, yes. xoxo

Ooh, this is good! I have been looking pretty haggard lately. As you have heard me complain. And complain. Anything that works and is not La Prairie is happy-making.

I absolutely swear by Shiseido. Have you tried the Bioperformance revitaliser (daily moisturiser cream?) Utterly brilliant – have never found anything to beat it. The bags under my eyes would be way more enormous without it!

I fully believe all the experts who say that eye products don’t work, but I still have spent $70 dollars four times on……(drum roll)

Caudalie Vinexpert Anti-Aging Serum Eyes and Lips

(and I rarely repeat-buy when it comes to beauty products, except for Revive, which I bought twice because it’s so amazing. And I read about it here first so thanks for that!)

Back to Caudalie. This eye serum is flippin’ wonderful. I’m convinced it works. You can read a bunch of reviews on Sephora and Skinstore testifying to this. Plus, Skinstore currently have it at 20% off. (I just bought myself another supply).
